Bio picI always thought I’d be an engineer or a scientist, but I fell in love with storytelling as a sophomore at Oregon State University.

Following a brief career in journalism, I combined this interest with visual media, completing a master’s degree in emergent digital practices at the University of Denver, studying the intersection of immersive media and the uncanny.

Returning to my home town of Seattle, I began working in nonprofit and health care communications, growing into a management role with the Washington State Hospital Association that oversees public relations, e-mail marketing, visual design, videography and web development.

I’ve worked on stories with The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, USA Today, CBS, The Today Show, CNN, NPR, Politico, ProPublica, U.S. News & World Report, MSN, the Associated Press, Reuters, Nature, Wired, BuzzFeed News, Modern Healthcare, Kaiser Health News, Becker’s Hospital Review and virtually every local outlet in the Seattle media market.

I taken up a number of side projects over the years, including teaching WordPress at Highline Community College, wedding videography and interactive greeting card design.
